About Me


My name is Ross Hainsworth. I decided to study Creation in Digital Content over the past year at Red & Yellow because I believe that it is highly beneficial to understand the way branding and promotion of brands in the digital world is a must-have skill in the turbulent times we find ourselves in. You might have a bright idea one day but that idea is only as good as you are able to pitch it to the rest of the world. I’ve enjoyed being challenged creatively over the last year by the wide variety of work we’ve been prescribed. I have found the way I tackle new problems has changed since I began studying at Red & Yellow – for the better in every way.

Digital Marketing Strategy


I decided to help my mother out by using her small business as a template to work with around creating a digital presence for a small local business. I created mockup accounts on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook as well as a concept (Wix) website for the Hey Bouquet brand which aims to provide artisanal flower bunches to the Helderberg community.

Community Management


This brief was divided into two segments. We were tasked with creating a simple digital campaign on a popular social media platform that would encourage users to engage with the brand (Uber) in a way that they wouldn’t have done before. We were also tasked with creating a community management scenario for the brand, in this case, it would be a community update about COVID-19.

Social Media Writing


I partnered with a fellow Graphic Design student (Amica Hendrikz) to come up with a social media campaign for aware.org that would raise awareness about the epidemic of underage drinking in South Africa. We were both delighted to be nominated as finalists for the 2020 LOERIES.

Content Video


The concept for this video creation stemmed from us being tasked with creating a video related to a single value of the Red and Yellow school values. I gravitated towards ‘Curiosity’ as I thought it would allow me to be more experimental given the lockdown circumstances at the time of production.

Product Development


CHOW CHOW is a YouTube video series that was released as a sub brand for Le Creuset South Africa. I hosted the show and made use of exclusively Le Creuset products while I was busy in the kitchen. The show aims to compare how home cooking can be compared to some of South Africa’s most popular street food meals.
