Hey there!
I’m Pier Veller, it’s lovely to meet you. I’m here just to tell you a little bit more about me.

I live to explore. Whether it’s a river adventure or experimenting creating zero-waste meals, I’m always tenaciously seeking ways to learn new information that betters not only me, but my surrounding environment and humans.

I have a weak spot for dogs and have two sitting on my lap as I write this. I love what these animals embody. All have a carefree attitude and live in the moment, getting excited at the smallest things. Their love, unconditional.

These characteristics are what I live to act on. I believe that humans have a deep desire to be treasured by others the way in which a dog cares for them, and so I love and laugh as if it’s my last day, so that everyone I surround myself with feels appreciated.

But I understand that it’s not all hugs and smiles. I know that when work needs to be done, one should do it with a certain amount of seriousness. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t enjoy what you create. I believe that I understand that fine line well enough that I can make a work place fun, but also massively productive.

There is still a lot of learning for me to do, and I know that I won’t ever stop educating myself, but I hope that this small glimpse has shown you the part of me that I am proud to express and brag about.
Have a wonderful day further and thank you for your time.

About me

African Bank: Brand Challenge

Many of us have versatile lifestyles and many of us carry these crazy lives in our bags. Our bags are personal and our lives are only really exposed when they are put under X ray, in places such as the airport, there anyone can see what you do in life.

The African Bank MyWORLD linked pocket system has been created to suit your every lifestyle need while you continue to go about your intriguing day. I collaborated with Yenziwe Nhlabatsi, Amber Harmse, Singita Weston, Sarisha Dhaya and Madikela Dikgale.

Self-initiative: Save Our Sharks

Longline fishing is one of the main reasons sharks in South African waters are disappearing.

We as Save Our Sharks have created an app that allows consumers to vote with their wallets, buy fish that is sustainably sourced and support local restaurants that buy sustainably caught fish as well.

Aware.org - Stay Sharp

Drinking under the age of 18 can cause a loss of basic motor functions, such as a loss for words or clumsiness.

We as aware.org are becoming increasingly concerned by the number of underaged drinkers in South Africa. This campaign was created to combat this growing issue by communicating to the youth in a fun, humorous and relatable way.

Time to Grow Up

Growing up can be a challenge, especially if you’re doing it alone. Take our online quiz and see what plant suits your personality.

Come and fetch your new friend at our weekly adoption days, download the app and set goals. Grow alongside your plant buddy. I was lucky enough to collaborate with Cheylin Wertheim for this project.

Moody Cook

The lockdown blues really hit all of us hard, here in South Africa. Moody Cook has  found a way to help. Find how you’re feeling in our contents page and see which recipe you can  make that calms you down in the process.

And at the end? You’ll have a grilled cheese. Doesn’t  that sound appealing? I worked with the wonderful Anya Brilus and Ayesha Jardine for this project.
