Hello, Nate here! I am a third-year BA Visual Comm student at Red and Yellow and I specialise in digital design. Which means I get to make a lot of stuff look cool! My strengths lie in, Motion Design, Animation, UX design, Illustration, and Video editing.

I also have experience With After Effects and Illustrator, being second nature to me. I enjoy incorporating my passion for music and sound design into my work. That being said, I’d say my personality is a combination of Jazz Soul and Rock n Roll! You can find my work on Behance!

About me

The Beyond

An adult animated South African series on Netflix? Why not! This self-initiated animation series, involving an alien named Larry, stems from the lack of original South African animation content on streaming platforms such as Netflix, as well as the lack of coverage when it comes to marginalised communities in SA.

So what’s the solution? Create an alien character named Larry who discusses social, political and economical issues in an entertaining yet meaningful way! Larry breaks the barrier of discussion that happens so little and allows us as humans and South Africans to remember we are not alone.

24 Yours

The brief tasked us to design an athleisure brand as well as a launch campaign aimed at 20-35-year olds. The launch campaign is rooted in the insight that in order for people to grind through their day and kick-ass, they need to feel like the best version of themselves.

Physical comfort in one’s body encourages one to move beyond their comfort zone and be themselves. The campaign shows a variety and self-expression of the athleisure wear 24/7 around the clock in a vibrant and quirky style.

Talented creative collaborators for this brief include Andrea Rossouw, Jes Graham and Erin Kemper.

Flip The Future

This exciting campaign tasked us to gain local and international consumers that are passionate about community upliftment in order to increase Zip Zaps monthly monetary donations by reflecting how Zip Zap equips and empowers youth through social performance arts.

The Flip the Future campaign allows potential and existing donors help flip the narrative for those in disadvantaged communities, as well as physically see the impact they have through success stories.

Creative collaborators for this brief include Andrea Rossouw, Mieke van Ryhn, Nina Formanek and Imrah Benjamin.

Doc Hub

We were tasked to create and experienced-based campaign for the 2020 Encounters Film Festival. The entire festival would be hosted online where one would be able to stream and experience both local and international documentaries.

Doc Hub is a content and community-based app that allows users to actively screen record their favourite documentary moments and choose to save, share or store their favourite moments. This app allows user convenience and flexibility as well as a drive for a conversation on social media.

This creates an easy user experience that can go beyond the campaign event.

The Lonely Isle

The brief tasked us to create a campaign for Audible UK, encouraging potential users to download and subscribe to audibles subscription service. Our launch campaign is derived from the insight that Britain has been voted to be the loneliest nation in Europe.

Upon finding what has been dubbed a national health crisis, Audible decided to help through the creation of a 3-month campaign building a Lonely Isles community. The goal is to combat loneliness through the creation of communities.

Creative collaborators for this brief include Pier Veller and Gabriella Fish.
