Hi! My name is Madikela Dikgale. A multidisciplinary artist born and bred in Limpopo with a background in graphic design, visual art and art direction, with past experience in design and advertising agency. Currently doing my postgraduate in User Centered Design and specializing in user interface design, visual design and interaction design. Known as a mysterious creation because of my introverted nature. Ambitious and observant with a sense of humour to lighten the mood.
About me
Interface & Interaction
Between 10and5 is an online platform that showcases creative stories focusing on graphic design and photography as well as music and events/exhibitions. In the brief, the client believes that there should be a greater focus on video content. He believes that it is an area where growth for the business will increase.
For the brief, we were placed in a team of 5 and we performed usability testing, card sorting, user observation, competitive analysis and heuristic evaluation which was spread out between the 5 members. With all the findings it was then consolidated into the redesign of the mobile website.
This campaign is about challenging South Africans to think inside the “box” and look at their objects in their pantries differently.
The reasoning behind choosing to evaluate and redesign the mobile website was due to the rise in social media links and internet connectivity on mobile phones, the fact that more South African youths are connected to the internet via mobile phones.
Independent Studies
The main goal was to create an application that will help minimize and alleviate pressure for young South African graduates to map out their careers by structuring effective CVs using the rating system that can be implemented at tertiary institutions.
Problem Statement
How can this application help minimize and alleviate the pressure on young South African graduates to map their careers by structuring effective CVs?
Solution
The Application brings about the rating system which will help the users to map out the progress towards the career they want to follow.
Educational App
We were approached by the Red and Yellow – UCD department to bring solutions where new technology can help in solving social problems.
Education is the area we choose to focus on.

Solution
Our identified solution is to design a mobile application that learners can use to learn skills in Numeracy and Literacy.
Prototyping
Open Music Archive Website backstory is to source, digitize, and distribute out of copyright sound recordings initiated by artists Eileen Simpson and Ben White.
The website has interactive functionalities to allow music lovers and artists who are looking at downloading soundtracks for personal consumption or for personal projects and collaborations.
Need Statement
Open Music Archive users need a way to use the platform to find open-source music so that they do not have to worry about the legality of copyright music laws
