I’m Luvo Zwide. I’m doing a Higher certificate in Graphic design, specializing in visual brand identities & digital design.
The type of work that I’m passionate about is creating meaningful or impactful design that adds value to the customers and the business.
I think working remotely within a team is one of my strengths and the ability to bring a fresh perspective to the brand without losing original intent is a skill I sure want to master, also brainstorming and developing new concepts and ideas to boost the brand is one of my traits when it comes to design
Gogo is a Zulu translation for granny, so Gogocoin is a cryptocurrency that is meant for seniors that are not so tech-savvy but have the interest to invest in it, as it designed/branded to be easy and fun to use, also including different languages offline and online support.
This was a very fun and rewarding project to undertake as I worked through all of the UI and branding design phases, I challenged my own initial ideas and design direction to come up with an app design and visual brand identity that best reflects the business and adheres to the core”why” – to attract more users to the cryptocurrency market and encourage them to buy and sell their coins on their own removing the banks.
In the process of creating the info-graphic poster and the collateral, I have learned about the use of information design principles and the value of narrative. I gained knowledge of handling data and analyzing research. It made me strategically think about how to translate an amount of information into an engaging, visual info-graphic poster, It also helped improve my hierarchy and illustration skills.
This design solution worked for my concept because the picture was the main focus of this project. By keeping the colors minimal and muted and the typography classic, I was able to tie together the fashion with just- chairs articles. The final solution is an informative editorial that allows viewers to also take a break from reading and enjoy the picture or process featured throughout the magazine.
Both creators, Luvo and Sane, born and bred in the South African soil which is rich with a variety of music genres, some backing from the times of our forefathers and are still tunes listened to till today. Music has been known to be a language of the community bringing together people from various cultural backgrounds dancing to one beat. In South Africa especially music has played a vital role in our history however it is sadly unfortunate that some of these historical sounds and beats have been overshadowed by western sounds over the years.
The music app we tend to create is an app that specifically focuses on the originality of our home-grown music with playlists featuring the most iconic musicians such as …. to the newest sounds of Gqom, Amapiano, and afrobeat.
The main objective of this app is not only to offer a home-grown playlist but also to connect people together and bring out that African togetherness we are seeming to lose.
For the kit design I wanted to keep it as simple as possible but again communicating the values that the company stands for such as quality, luxury and comfort, so I tried by all means not to limit the consumers understanding that the company is unisex sportswear, so I had to avoid using colors that translated to something else patterns too, which is why I decided to elongated those italic rectangles to patterns and to give it that luxury sporty car type( Bugatti) of carbon fiber that can be seen external, to promote movement and the sporty feeling.
