My name is Jake Banks. Looking through my work I hope you grab a sense of who I am as I try to represent myself through my work. I’m the type of individual who will put his work aside to help others, whether it is encouragement or guidance. My love for the outdoors started when I was young as it was the only environment I was able to fully express myself and my passions. I grew up always moving around, energetic and curious. Always wanting to know more drove me to where I am today. I’m proud of my achievements but this doesn’t fill my head or stand in my way. As I want to continue being the individual I am today.
We were tasked with creating a campaign and content plan for a company of our choice. The company we selected was UberEATS. The content plan had to be carried out over a month, over various different platforms. We completed a full analysis of the company and created 2 separate target markets and selected platforms that we felt aligned with the company and that would be aligned with the campaign.

We were tasked with creating a podcast series for a South African company. We had to create a podcast that align with the target market of the product. The company that was given to me was Dettol. I decided to create a podcast that would be able to be listened to while cleaning. The podcast wasn’t directed at promoting the products but more directed at creating another avenue to the company.
We were tasked with enhancing our storytelling through content and were challenged with creating a documentary of ourselves representing one of the values of Red & Yellow. The value I chose was Proudly Persistent. This short documentary we had to tell a story about our life that correlates to the value.
We were tasked with creating a podcast or video series for a brand of our choice or a brand of our own. I chose to develop my own brand called Banxz and decided to do a video series. Banxz is an outdoor adventure brand. I wanted to create a video series that I felt was unique and hadn’t been done before. The series is called “My Wheel & I” where I travelled from Cape Town to Knysna on a one wheel. The purpose of this trip was to remind people to enjoy the beauty around them and sometimes slow things down, so you are able to appreciate them more.
We were tasked with taking a small business in a local community that have been impacted by the global pandemic. We had to create a digital strategy that would aid the company through these tough times and the opportunity to continue working. The company that I chose was WamBam Tattoos. As a small company, there was a large amount of self-research and creation of new content for new and existing platforms. I decided to challenge myself with a tattoo company as it would be one of the industries impacted the most by the global pandemic.
