Hi there, my name is Allison Brennan and I am a young Illustrator & Graphic designer currently in South Africa.
I Studied at Red & Yellow School of Business doing my BA in Visual Communications degree, Majoring in Illustration. My illustration style is whimsical and storybook like. I work mostly with watercolour, and brown linework with copic markers. My skills range from all traditional mediums such as gouache, watercolour, embroidery, and digital art such as logos, websites animation and more. My goal is “turning lateral concepts into visuals through illustration, brand identity and more.”
Feel free to check out my brand Aliveriy A Illustrations on Instagram and my website.

Choose a community or cause that is out of the illustrator’s comfort zone & create a range of merchandise that engages with this issue. The range needs to have a brand name and logo, as well as consist of at least 3 different illustrations for 3 items. It can be a range of 3 items (e.g. a poster, shirt, notebook) or one item with 3 different designs (e.g. a range of illustrated activist socks). I focused on Transgender children who were transitioning and created the brand Fluidentity which supplied journals for these kids to help them through this tough time.
Create an illustrated visual identity for a client whose brand/ product/ service is in a professional field that challenges the student’s personal comfort zone. Students should consider the client’s class, culture, language, religion, gender and bodied experience and link this to theoretical themes being discussed in their theoretical subjects Visual Studies and Marketing. I chose a local lingerie brand named Takkleberry and created a brand identity using the theme delicate lace and cotton in watercolour. I made a pattern using cotton and plants, which was used for creating the delicate bag for the underwear with the logo.
Create an interactive illustrated e-pub book of 20 pages (including the cover), that explores the illustrator’s view of Posthuman perspective in a non-linear narrative. The theoretical concepts of Posthuman perspectives must be applied to the illustrator’s book’s interactivity and their medium and formal elements need to convey their concept clearly. I focused on a border crossing between Argentina and South Africa, without the use of airplanes. Focusing on a girl who crosses the borders and finds herself among giant armored creatures, and relics from ancient times. For the interactive part of the brief I included two gifs to show movement.
Develop a brand identity and launch concept for a sportswear brand targeted at young singles and couples who live an on-the-go lifestyle. We created the brand Splits, for urban athletes who are just trying to keep up with the many different tasks they must complete during the day. Our clothing has funky and cool patterns to differentiate themselves from others and make them feel unique. Gifs were made for stories on Instagram for the challenges we created for our brand launch to stand a chance to win a box set of our athleisure for them to try out and promote.
Create a Brand Launch for a new and upcoming Online Car Buying/Selling Service which will define and develop a go-to-market strategy to help launch the CarFling brand into the consumer market and drive towards becoming the “Go To Car Buying Service”. I animated the brand logo to create a sense of movement, where the “f” in Carflip, flips like a coin, slowing down and then stopping as well as illustrating the Storyboard for the digital poster animation to confirm the final execution, and the poster and monster scamps in the beginning stages which we took further into the campaign.
