Hi!

About me

SEO and Long Copy Brief

We were asked to select a brand of our choice and create a blog post and an email for them, as well as conduct keyword research and perform a website analysis.
I selected the brand Jekyll & Hide, as am a huge fan of their products, and I really love their digital presence and the way they have decided to display their products.
Copywriting is my passion, and so I really enjoyed working on this project! Images for the blog post and email were found on Pexels, and the content in the Instagram post was created by me.

Social Media Writing

This project was created as a collaboration between myself and two talented Graphic Design students, Danielle Jordaan and Luvo Zwide. It was created for aware.org.za, a South African NPO whose aim is to prevent the consequences of alcohol abuse.
When one of our designers (whose specialty is painting in coffee) suggested the idea of painting in wine, we knew that not only did we have a visually powerful medium, but it would also make viewers think about our subject matter. Our goal was to pack a punch – combining fine art, graphic design, and powerful copy – forcing our audience to think about our story long after they had seen it.

Content Video

For this assignment, we were tasked with selecting a Red & Yellow value, and creating a short documentary style content video for the school.

I selected “Proudly Persistent”. 2020 has been a tough year for many people, and so I felt that the idea of being persistent was especially relevant given the times. I also felt that I had a story I could share in such a way as to bring a little bit of hope to those who were also struggling.

My subject matter was deeply personal and I debated for a long time whether or not I wanted to share it, but I’m glad that I did. This is some of the work I am most proud of.

Product Development

For our Product Development Summative, we were required to create a content video or podcast series for a brand of our choice. I realised in my studies at Red & Yellow, that I really enjoy the filming and editing process and am a keen cook and baker in my personal time, and so I decided to make a video series for the brand Pick N Pay.

I created a YouTube cooking channel where I share cooking tips and tricks for people aiming to cook on a budget or perhaps only have a certain number of ingredients at home. Each episode is designed to cover a meal time like breakfast or lunch, and then forms a selection of dishes using 10 ingredients the can be paired together to create an affordable, nutritious and interesting meal.

Digital Marketing

Our final project for the year was to create a digital presence as well as a marketing campaign for a small business in our area. I decided that I would work with one of my favourite cafes – Park’s Edge, located in the quaint neighbourhood of Harfield Village in Cape Town.

For the digital presence section of the assignment, I created a website, an Instagram page, and a Facebook presence for the business. Park’s Edge is eclectic and comfortable, while still being elegant and charming, and so I did my best to marry these themes across their online presence just like they do in person.
