I was born in the UK, I grew up in the countryside in a busy house as the baby sister of five girls, all of which rode horses while growing up, so not surprisingly (after being stuck on a Shetland pony before I could even sit up), I fell in love with horses and became an avid rider too.
I had the privilege of attending a specialist sports school where I boarded. There, I was exposed to all kinds of sports from hockey, golf, fencing, swimming and horse riding – getting to ride horses during school hours was like a dream come true! I devoted the majority of my time to horse riding during my school career and competed at a national level.
However, after years of competition, I decided against making horse riding a profession and wanted instead to try my hand at something completely different when I finished school and I enrolled in a 2-year beauty therapy and makeup course, a secret passion I had been wanting to explore.
After completing my course I moved to Cape town with my family last year. Since moving to Cape Town, I’ve dabbled in some makeup work experience on film and shoot sets. This was great as it gave me the opportunity to discover that, whilst I really enjoy makeup artistry, I actually wanted to be involved in the creation and production side of media.
I studied a media studies course at school and really enjoyed the film producing module, particularly producing a film trailer and music video, and being on these sets in Cape Town ignited something inside me to go into media and advertising.
So that’s what brought me to the doorstep of Red and Yellow, where I gained all the skills that needed to enter the media industry and do something I really love every day.
A podcast trailer where every week we will be exploring the touchy subjects of mother and daughters relationships and to hopefully help other mothers and daughters to communicate more.
